Plan your transition to Genesis Foods
A clear path from Genesis Classic to Genesis Foods
Your transition to Genesis Foods includes prepping your Classic data, training in the new platform, a private preview environment to validate your workflows, and scheduling your final move to production date. Use this page to understand each step, register for trainings for your team, and get ready for go-live.
Step 1: Opt in to start your transition
Submit your transition request so Trustwell can begin guiding your team through the move to Genesis Foods. If you haven't already, you can opt in below:

Step 2: Prepare your Classic data
Review your Genesis Classic data. The Trustwell Support team may provide you with an exception report indicating which of your data will display differently in Genesis Foods.
You will need to review any exceptions and either make changes or accept the data as-is to move forward. This may include reviewing recipes, ingredients, allergens, and other data your workflows depend on.
For on-premise customers, this is also the right time to review Trustwell’s technical and security resources so internal IT, legal, and security teams can begin their review early.
Step 3: Register and attend free Genesis Foods training
Training is a key part of a successful transition to Genesis Foods. We offer weekly training in Genesis Foods to help get you up to speed with the new platform. These free, 1-hour trainings are designed to teach you the basics of navigating Genesis Foods.

Step 4: Validate your data and workflows
In your private Preview Environment, review your migrated data and confirm that your team can complete key workflows in Genesis Foods. This step helps your team identify questions before your move to Production and gives users time to build confidence in the platform.
Step 5: Schedule your final move to production
When your team has completed training and validation of your data, you can schedule your final move to the Genesis Foods production environment directly from this page.
Step 6: Go live in Genesis foods!
Once your move to production is complete, your team can begin using Genesis Foods right away. Continue to the Training page for post-go-live training, support, and resources to help you get the most out of Genesis Foods.
Is there a cost associated with the transition to Genesis Foods?
No, the upgrade to Genesis Foods comes at no cost to your organization.
How do Nutrition Fact Panels from Classic transfer to Genesis Foods?
All Labels will migrate over with their associated recipes as .png files located in the attachments section of the recipe
Is it possible to archive or delete a specific version of a recipe without affecting the entire recipe?
Genesis Foods is designed to keep all versions of a recipe linked together to maintain a complete history of the food item. Individual versions cannot be archived or deleted independently.
We recommend making a copy of the specific version and then archiving the original recipe. This allows you to start fresh with a clean version history.
Is it possible to delete a recipe or ingredient that has already been approved?
Approved recipes and ingredients can only be archived. Archiving keeps the item saved in the system but allows it to be excluded from standard search results.
Is there a limit for how many versions a recipe can have?
No, there is no set limit to the number of versions you can have for a recipe.
